Atama Long Sleeve Rash Guard - Blue/White

I own and regularly wear the blue Atama rashguard shown above for no-gi training as well as underneath my gi.   In my experience, I have found some rashguards to fit well, but tend to feel too tight. The Atama rashguard on the other hand  is very comfortable.   The elastic waist does prevent the top from riding up, but is not too tight.   I have owned an Atama rashguard for about one and a half years, and the print has not peeled off either. This is a big plus in my opinion, as I have owned rashguards that have started peeling after one training session!

For £10, this is a rare bargain.   If you are considering buying a new rashguard or upgrading your training equipment, then I would seriously consider one of these.   Since this is a clearance sale, I would order one asap as you won’t find many of these type of offers around, especially in the UK!

The Cyclone Competition Gi are on offer at £49.99 (44% off) and can be purchased here. I feel that is a good price for a gi, as I have bought a rashguard for almost that price! Cyclone state that they can keep the prices of their BJJ gis low because they buy them in vast quantities. At the time of writing, Black Eagle and Cyclone are offering gi’s for around the £50 mark, and this can’t be bad for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in the UK (a review of the Black Eagle BJJ Gi can be found here). It should make BJJ make more accessible to people wanting to start out in the sport, but aren’t willing to spend close to £100 on a gi.

From a hygiene perspective, it also means there is less excuse for people to turn up to BJJ classes with a dirty gi and say they haven’t had time to wash and dry the thing. I will have a rant on BJJ hygiene in a future post.
